Join us for an evening of celebration, learning and action for a fair food system on Saturday, August 27th!

World Beat Cultural Center, 5:30-7:00pm

In San Diego, around California and across the nation, communities are taking action to make healthy, sustainable and fair food more accessible and to support our local farmers. There's no question that our food system is broken, but the good news is that there is great work taking place at all levels to build alternatives. The California Fair Farm Bill Road Trip, which kicks off in San Diego on the 27th, is highlighting this great work.

Join Slow Food Urban San Diego, Food & Water Watch, and Live Real for an evening of celebration and inspiration on Saturday, August 27th. We'll have speakers to share the local, state and federal work that's taking place to change the food system, ways for attendees to get involved, live son jarocho music, and, of course, food and drink! This event will also kick off a week-long Fair Farm Bill road trip across California highlighting how communities statewide are working to build a fair food system. Attendees can sign postcards and take photos with messages to California's members of Congress, which we'll deliver at the end of the road trip!

Featuring:
Nyenyekevu Diane Moss, Project New Village, San Diego
Ken Msemaji, former organizer with Cesar Chavez, United Domestic Workers
Adam Scow, California Campaigns Director with Food & Water Watch
Navina Khanna and youth organizers from Live Real
